The small mountain village of Ouzous, at 550m altitude, has been able to preserve it's pastorale character. You will probably see cows, sheep or riders with their horses on the path to the Pibeste, the mountain chain you will almost certainly take a hike to admire the Mediterranean plants, mouflons and birds of prey. The return journey takes about 5 to 6 hours with a height of 780m to reach the Pibeste peak. Argelès-Gazost, spa town with it's park, casino and shops. Market on Tuesday mornings. For snow sports enthusiasts, Hautacam, family resort, with it's cross country area and alpine skiing runs in the winter or Rollerbe / go-karting in the summer. Just a few kilometers away, the the nordic ski resort of Val d'Azun. For lovers of more exciting skiing Cauterets, Tourmalet or Luz Ardiden resorts are only 45 minutes away with Gavarnie at 1 hour. Cirque de Gavarnie, Pic du Midi de Bigorre, taking the Col du Tourmalet, Gaube lake at Cauterets are some of the prestigious sites to visit, without forgetting Lourdes 10 minutes away from the village. Like to do something different ? Hill walking, equitation, rafting, paragliding, mountainbiking or cycling on the coulée verte track from Pierrefitte to Lourdes, canyoning, visit the caves of Bétharam, Donjon des Aigles at Beaucens or the Pyrenean Animal Park in Argelès ... there is a wide choice of activities and don't forget to try tree climbing with Chlorofil... |
